Holding meetings
From SecularPortal
Meetings are generally the staple diet of any society. It is good practice to have regular meetings as it draws people together on a regular basis, keeping people interested in the society and giving plenty of opportunity for people to get to know each other.

Top tips
- Get there at least 10 minutes early to set up and to make sure you are the first one there. Otherwise people may turn up and think nobody is coming and leave.
- Put a sign on the door. People often look for some kind of confirmation that they have the right room before they come in, especially if this is the first meeting they have been to.
- Publicise it via mailing lists, your website and Facebook. If you want more publicity, put posters up round your University. Once this has been done try not to change the date or venue. If you do, have someone at the old venue or time to inform people of the change.
