Make Your Own God is an event first run by Leeds Atheist Society in September 2008. The idea of the event is that people can turn up and build a god out of the various craft materials provided Blue Peter style.

Reaction

The event was generally well received with lots of people getting involved and making a god. On the whole there were relatively few religious people voicing their opposition to the event.

Controversy

When the event was first run, Leeds University Union refused to run the event on their events listings because they believed it could be offensive to some students.
